We had a great experience buying our first van with Justin at Powell & sons for converting into a camper. They operate from convenient premises just off the M27 (which are very clean and tidy I should say). They have a service yard to make sure the vehicles are well maintained, serviced and MOT’d if necessary. The van a bought had a simple electrical sensor problem. I incorrectly took it to a local dealership, thinking that it would save me a drive back to Powells and that it would be fixed easily.
The dealership did a horrendous job and didn’t resolve the fault, by which time the van had gone out of warranty with Powells.
Powells understood the situation and never hesitated to agree to fix it at no cost to me. They did a fantastic job at getting it diagnosed and completely sorted by a local auto electrical expert, while being communicative throughout, professional, approachable and very easy to deal with.

Came across a nice van while scrolling Gumtree on a Saturday morning, we stopped in to have a look…it was immaculate. So nicely valeted and smelt brand new! Arranging a test drive was super easy. The van drove great and was super tidy so we did the paperwork with Kevin. Our 9 week old puppy was even well looked after! He got all the finance sorted for us and we picked it up a week later. Very little inconvenience for us, Kevin handled everything and kept us well updated. Would definitely get another van from here. Every van they had looked perfect. Highly recommend!

I read the reviews on here before I visited Powells and was impressed. Now I want to add a very heartfelt thank you to Andy and to recommend them 100% to anyone thinking of doing business with them.

I bought a car from them recently which, although they deal in commercial vehicles, they had taken in good faith and sold it to me, also in good faith. Unfortunately it broke down two days after I bought it. Andy immediately offered to take it back and promised he would not return it to me until it was fixed and I was happy.

It was an intermittent fault and they struggled to find it but after replacing an integral part Andy delivered it back to me, some 35 miles away. But it broke down again, and without any hesitation, Andy gave me a full refund… and as he still had my old part exchange car, I got that back as well!

Everything he said he would do, he did, with a smile and extreme courtesy. Powells is a lovely honest family business and I wish Andy and his sons/team much deserved success in the future. Do not hesitate to buy from them.

I bought my new work van (Ex BT Fleet, Vivaro) from Andy in mid June 2023. I was able to reserve the van before viewing with a refundable deposit, as I was then on holiday. Andy continued to stay in contact with me regarding when the van was going to be ready from its bodywork work (colour coding of bumpers) valet and PDI. I arrived at Andys unit to a pleasant ‘hello’ and we were then completely left alone to look around the van and were then able to kindly test drive it.
